So a lot has happened in a week. Mommy went to the doctor to confirm the pregnancy with a blood test. It's official, there is a bun in the oven! The doctor checked mommy's levels and her prolactin is perfect (thank you Dosinex!), her progesterone is great (thank you Metformin!) and her HCG is fabulous (thank you baby M!). Mommy and daddy are feeling mixed emotions. But its slowly starting to feel real and sink in (slowly and a little by little). We will be jumping for joy and praising God once we reach the second trimester. The first trimester has such a high miscarriage rate already and with mommy's condition, well we are just terrified. But Mommy is praying everynight and so is Grammy Magnolia. She said she's been praying really hard and all the time. I believe God is good and will protect this little bean. But we are just being realistic.
Every night daddy kisses Mommy's tummy and it makes Mommy so happy. Daddy has been a wonderful Daddy to be to Mommy. He really makes sure she's feeling great, always checking up on her to take her Prenatal vitamin and make sure she's eating good stuff for the baby. He also is driving all the time now and mommy loves it! He also never lets her open the windows (they're heavy) and never lets her carry anything heavy. He has been such a sweetheart and gives in to her cravings. If mommy wants Perrier, daddy will buy it. If mommy wants an Icee, daddy will let her have a small one. Daddy is treating her like such a princes that she jokingly said she'd like to stay pregnant forever! haha. Lets not forget the gorgeous two bouquets of flowers he's gotten her. Oh and he also picks her up from work so she doesn't have to walk so far by herself. Daddy is the best husband mommy could ever have dreamed of. Even Grammy M says I'm spoiled :)
Today our little frijolito is the size of a sesame seed!! He is the shape of a tadpole and starting today his brain and spinal cord are starting to develop. Mommy likes to tell daddy these things because this sort of stuff creeps him out only because it makes it more real and he's afraid to give his heart completely to our little bean for the time being. Many think our fears are morbid but like I said, our fears are realistic. But once daddy gets over his initial creep outs he gets really happy and excited for our little bean. Same with Mommy. We can't wait to meet him/her!
Our first pre-natal is scheduled for 6/17/10 when our bean will be approximately 8 weeks old (2 months in the belly). In the mean time we're taking it easy, praying every night, and enjoying our love for one another. God is good!
